From one prompt to a packed room.
Describe the game you want. Jermaine builds an editable, source-backed trivia deck. BuzzerBeam runs it live while every guest’s phone becomes a buzzer.

About BuzzerBeam
Built by a trivia lover
with an AI-sized curiosity.
I’ve always loved the moment a great trivia question makes a whole room lean in—the guesses, the debates, and the celebration when somebody gets it right. BuzzerBeam started with a simple idea: what if AI could handle the research work without taking away the personality of hosting?
The result is a local-first trivia toolkit that brings together two things I genuinely enjoy: creating memorable game nights and experimenting with useful AI. The goal is not to replace the host. It is to give the host better material, fewer setup headaches, and more time to enjoy the room.
The room came first.
BuzzerBeam was designed around the energy of playing together—not around keeping everyone glued to another app.
Your router is part of the team.
A regular local Wi-Fi network becomes the connection between the host, the big screen, and every player’s buzzer.
The AI has a name.
Jermaine is the trivia research sidekick: helpful with sources and drafts, while the human host keeps the final say.
AI does the digging.
You run the room.
How it works
Build less.
Host more.
Generate or import a deck, open one live session, and let every guest join from the browser already on their phone.
Generate or build

Players join
Guests scan the room QR code or enter the local address. No app and no player account required.
Run the room
Start timers, review answers, award points, reveal results, and keep the room moving.

Good to know
Questions before
the first question?
Do players need to install anything?+
No. Players use the browser already on their phone. They join from the local address or QR code shown on the audience display.
Does it really work without internet?+
The live game runs over your local Wi-Fi. A host signs in online first; a trusted host device can then keep hosting during the trusted period even if the internet connection drops.
What hardware do I need?+
A Mac or computer to host, a regular Wi-Fi router, and player phones. A TV or projector makes the shared audience display even better.
How does the AI trivia generator stay useful when my topic is narrow?+
Jermaine selects verified prompt matches first. If there are not enough, it fills the remaining slots with general verified trivia while keeping the question formats you requested.
What counts toward my monthly AI deck allowance?+
A successfully generated source set or prompt deck counts as one generation. Failed attempts and automatic provider retries do not use your allowance. Your allowance refreshes at the start of each calendar month.
Can I edit or import trivia questions?+
Yes. Review and edit generated questions before download, or import your own CSV and JSON files in the Mac app. You can reorder slides, add pictures, and combine questions into saved decks.
How are host accounts and payments protected?+
Host email/password authentication uses Supabase. Paid plans use Stripe Checkout, signed Stripe webhooks, and server-side subscription syncing; payment secrets are never placed in browser code.
